A Jury composed of  reviewers from the World Bank and partners read the submitted essays and selected the finalists. On May 17, during the ABCDE Conference in Slovenia, the juries evaluated presentations of the finalists and selected the winners.

The Selecting Committee reviewed the essays and selected the best on the basis of originality/creativity of thought, structure and coherence of the arguments, relevance to the theme of the competition.

They also ensured transparency and fairness of the Essay Competition.

The Selecting Committee is composed of representatives of the organizations comprising the Steering Committee.
