How to submit a video?

To submit your video, you will need to complete the following steps:

1. Create an account with YouTube (unless you have one already)

You will need to give your email address (please use the same as for registration on the Essay Competition website), select a password, enter your postcode, date of birth and gender, and agree to the terms and conditions.

Please check 'Let others find my channel on YouTube if they have my email address'.

Youtube will send you an email with a link that you need to click on in order to activate your account.

In order to preserve the anonymous character of the evaluation process, it is advised that you create your account with a nickname and not your real name.

 2. Upload your video

Click on the yellow 'Upload' button in the upper right-hand corner.

YouTube accepts most video file formats such as .WMV, .AVI, .MOV, and .MPG  transferred from digital cameras, camcorders, or cell phones.

If  your current video file format is recognized by YouTube, try converting your file to MPEG4 video with MP3 audio.

The size limit is 1 GB. However, please note that, unless you have a very fast internet connection, you may not be able to upload a file of that size. It is advised to compress your video if possible.

If you need more help, please use the YouTube handbook.

3. Fill a submission form on the Essay Competition website

This will allow us to link your video to your profile.

You will be asked to provide your name and contact details, as well as the title, description and  URL of your video, so that we can locate it on YouTube.
